Ingredients
Scale
Salmon Bites
- 1 ½ pounds salmon, about 4 filets, skins removed, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
Glaze
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, room temperature
- ¼ cup (85 g) hot honey, homemade or store-bought
- Parsley, chopped for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat air fryer: Preheat the air fryer to 390°F to ensure it is hot and ready for cooking the salmon bites evenly.
- Season salmon: In a large bowl, combine extra virgin olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, kosher salt, and black pepper. Add the salmon cubes and gently toss to coat each piece fully with the seasoning mixture.
- Cook salmon bites: Place the seasoned salmon bites in a single even layer in the air fryer basket. Depending on your air fryer size, you may need to cook in batches. Air fry for 10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking, until the salmon reaches an internal temperature of 140-145°F.
- Prepare glaze: While salmon cooks, melt the unsalted butter with the hot honey in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Once melted and warmed through, remove from heat.
- Toss salmon in glaze: Add the cooked salmon bites to the saucepan with the hot honey butter. Gently toss to coat all pieces evenly in the glaze.
- Garnish and serve: Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately for the best flavor and texture.
Notes
- For oven cooking, bake salmon bites at 400°F for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Use store-bought hot honey for convenience or make your own by infusing honey with chili flakes.
- Ensure salmon is fresh and cut into uniform pieces for even cooking.
- Garnish with fresh parsley or substitute with cilantro for a different flavor.
- Serve these bites as an appetizer or alongside rice and vegetables as a main course.
