Description

Crispy and flavorful Garlic Parmesan Chicken Wings made with a crispy air-fried coating, tossed in a buttery garlic and parmesan sauce, perfect for a party appetizer or snack.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken Wings

  • 1 kg (2.2 lb) chicken wings
  • 1 level tbsp aluminium-free baking powder
  • ½ tsp table salt
  • ½ tsp pepper

Garlic Parmesan Sauce

  • 90 g (3.1 oz) unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 50 g (½ cup) parmesan (finely grated)
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • ¼ tsp table salt (optional)
  • ¼ tsp pepper

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Wings: Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels. In a large bowl, toss the wings with baking powder, ½ teaspoon salt, and ½ teaspoon pepper until evenly coated. This coating helps to crisp the skin during cooking.
  2. Air Fry the Wings: Preheat the air fryer to 200°C (390°F). Arrange the wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket without overcrowding. Cook for 35 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even crisping.
  3. Make Garlic Parmesan Sauce: While the wings cook, melt the unsalted butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in the finely grated parmesan, dried parsley, ¼ teaspoon salt (optional), and ¼ teaspoon pepper.
  4. Toss Wings in Sauce: Once the wings are crispy and golden, transfer them into a large bowl. Pour the garlic parmesan sauce over the wings and toss well to coat evenly.
  5. Serve: Serve the garlic parmesan wings hot as a delicious party appetizer or snack. Optionally, garnish with extra parsley or parmesan.

Notes

  • Use aluminium-free baking powder to avoid a metallic taste.
  • Pat wings very dry for maximum crispiness.
  • If you prefer, parmesan can be substituted with pecorino or asiago cheese.
  • Adjust salt in sauce after tossing if desired to taste.
  • If you don't have an air fryer, bake wings at 220°C (425°F) for 40-45 minutes, flipping halfway.
