Description

This Air Fryer Baked Potato recipe features perfectly crispy skin and tender insides, topped fully loaded with melted cheddar cheese, crispy turkey bacon, green onions, butter, and sour cream for a delicious, easy-to-make side or main dish.

Ingredients

Scale

Potatoes

  • 4 russet potatoes (about 4 inches in length and 3 inches in diameter)
  • Cooking spray
  • Salt & pepper (to taste)
  • Butter (to taste)

Toppings

  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 4 slices turkey bacon
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 green onions (sliced)

Instructions

  1. Prepare potatoes: Add russet potatoes to the air fryer basket, spray them evenly with cooking spray, and season all sides with salt to taste.
  2. Air fry potatoes: Air fry the potatoes at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes. Using an oven mitt, carefully flip the potatoes over and continue air frying for another 15 minutes until the potatoes are fully tender when pierced with a fork.
  3. Cook bacon: While potatoes air fry, heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the turkey bacon slices for 5 to 10 minutes until crisp and cooked through. Remove from skillet and chop into small pieces once cooled.
  4. Prepare toppings: Grate the cheddar cheese and slice the green onions. Set both aside.
  5. Assemble loaded potatoes: Remove the potatoes from the air fryer and slice down the center lengthwise. Add butter to the hot potato halves, sprinkle salt and pepper to taste, then top generously with grated cheddar cheese, chopped turkey bacon, and sliced green onions.
  6. Serve: Serve each loaded potato with a dollop of sour cream on the side or on top and enjoy immediately.

Notes

  • This recipe is a quick and easy way to enjoy air fryer baked potatoes with all the classic loaded toppings like bacon, cheese, and sour cream.
  • For a vegetarian option, omit the turkey bacon or substitute with crispy smoked tempeh or mushrooms.
  • You can customize the toppings by adding diced tomatoes, jalapeños, or chives for extra flavor.
  • Make sure to prick the potatoes with a fork if desired before cooking for even cooking, though the air fryer handles this well without piercing.
  • Use a digital thermometer to check potato doneness if unsure; a fully cooked potato registers around 205 degrees Fahrenheit internally.
