Description

Buffalo Chicken Sliders are a flavorful and easy-to-make game day favorite featuring shredded chicken tossed in spicy Buffalo sauce, creamy ranch dressing, and melted mozzarella cheese, all nestled inside soft Hawaiian sweet rolls. These sliders are perfect for parties or a quick dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

Slider Assembly

  • 1 (12-ounce) package Hawaiian sweet dinner rolls (such as King’s Hawaiian)
  • 3 cups shredded chicken breast
  • ¾ cup hot sauce (such as Frank’s RedHot or Frank's Buffalo)
  • ¼ cup ranch dressing (Greek-yogurt based preferred)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella (provolone, or Havarti cheese, divided)
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Place a rack in the center of your oven and preheat to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. Prepare Buns: Without separating the buns at the sides, slice the slider buns in half horizontally. Place the bottom half of the buns in the center of the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Mix Chicken Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine shredded chicken, hot sauce, ranch dressing, and garlic powder until well coated with the sauce.
  4. Assemble Sliders: Scatter a small handful of shredded cheese over the bottom buns. Evenly distribute the buffalo chicken mixture on top of the cheese, then sprinkle the remaining cheese evenly over the chicken.
  5. Add Top Bun and Butter: Place the top half of the buns over the assembled chicken and cheese. In a small bowl, mix melted butter with Italian seasoning and brush this mixture liberally over the tops of the buns.
  6. Bake Sliders: Bake in the preheated oven until the cheese is melted and the bun tops are golden, about 10 to 12 minutes.
  7. Serve: Remove from oven, let cool for a few minutes. Carefully slice apart with a serrated knife and serve warm.

Notes

  • Using ranch dressing with Hawaiian rolls and melty cheese makes these sliders especially delicious and a game day favorite.
  • You can substitute mozzarella with provolone or Havarti cheese for different flavor variations.
  • Shredded rotisserie chicken can be used to save time.
  • Brush the butter mixture generously over the buns for a golden, flavorful crust.
  • These sliders can be assembled up to 4 hours ahead and baked just before serving.
